After property accounting Lvov police announced that during a so called Night of Wrath on 19 February and the following days more than 200 computers disappeared from the local police stations, while the recently dissolved Berkut lost 8 vehicles. The cars are now in the operative vehicle search. However, it turned out that it is easy to find them, they are exploited by the Right Sector. It is said that it happens with the authorities’ assent. The information comes from the news report of the TV programme Obzor Dnya at the ZIK channel. “We counted it up and found out that more than 200 computers and 83 printers disappeared from the local police stations,” says Igor Tuz, the deputy director of Lvov Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “They are either destroyed or stolen. Those machines left cannot be used.”
Vasily Didukh, the deputy commander for material and technical support of the Berkut, says in his own turn that 8 official vehicles of different car makes disappeared from their unit. Frankovsky police station has already commenced a criminal case over this incident, the punishment for which is imprisonment for 5-8 years and forfeiture of property. The investigators are now looking for the organizations exploiting the Berkut’s vehicles. Journalists have also immediately joined the search and found one of the cars at Svoboda Avenue in Lvov. On the official vehicle there were stickers of the Avtosotnia, The Afghan Sotnia and The Right Sector. It turned out that the car was used by Igor Kotsyuruba, the leader ofthe Right Sector in Lvov. He claimed that it were journalists who first told him that the car is searched. He said that the Right Sector uses the cars for patrolling the city. They are also driven by the Avtosotnia, the Afghan Sotnia and other organizations. “We have applied to Petr Kolodiya, the secretary of the Lvov Regional Council (LOS), and Irina Sekh, the director of the Lvov Regional State Administration (LOGA), with a request to provide us these vehicles for maintaining and exploiting them until a new body controlling law and order in Lvov is formed,” says Igor Kotsyuruba.
The journalists called Petr Kolodiya who confirmed in the conversation that he knew about using of the cars by the Right Sector.
