On March 9, shooting took place at the Kiev city state administration building. This was reported on social networks by a physician of the first ambulance substation. Later, he confirmed to Vesti News Agency, that everything described by him really happened. That night, ambulance workers were on duty in the building of the KSCA.
“At 2.30, a man ran into the clinic, shouting that there is a guy with a gunshot wound to the head in the basement of the KSCA. We provided him assistance, stopped the bleeding and prepared for hospitalization. And that’s when the worst began - the firefight; someone was shooting the Maidan participants, and they were shooting back. Grenades stuffed with screws, nuts, bolts, shards of glass were flying everywhere. Nobody paid attention to the ambulance workers and the patient. Someone had the desire to drown this basement in blood,” – Emergency Physician Yaroslav Vus shared his impressions.
He then added that they were able to crawl into some room and hide behind the corner. They took the patient and laid him nearby.
Shooting, fights and pogroms: Restless night in the center of Kiev. Kiev, 09.03.2014
Officials from the Shevchenko district police department in Kiev report that there are strange events taking place on the Independence Square at night, writes the news portal 112.ua Law enforcers say that there is sometimes heard shooting on the capital’s Independence Square at night, various fights and pogroms take place.
It is reported that at night on March 9, in the building of the Kyiv City State Administration, shots were heard. Officials from the Shevchenko district department said that an unknown man entered the building and started shooting, wounding one person.
It is not very clear as to what happens in the heart of the capital under the cover of dusk. Protesters and soldiers of Maidan Self-Defence refuse to talk to journalists, do not allow taking pictures of them and tend to check documents. Say, to avoid provocation.
In fact, people speak reluctantly about what is happening on the Independence Square. According to some protesters, certain groups of people constantly provoke collisions in the center of Kiev at night.
At the same time, it is quite difficult to understand who provokes others and what they do it for. Currently, there are a lot of weapons on EuroMaidan. This includes the “trophies” inherited from the Berkut fighters and the weapons of the so-called internal forces of the EuroMaidan.
As one of the members of the Self-Defence said, there was a shootout involving machine guns in the KSCA building not so long ago.
“The shooting began at night. I even had to jump out of the tent. ‘Kalash’ (Kalashnikov) firing could be heard. The morning, it turned out that masked men clashed with fighters of the Right Sector. They did not tell us what exactly happened. No word about the bereaved either,”- said the activist.
Ruslan, one of the fighters from Vinnitsa EuroMaidan Sotnia, said that politics are to blame for clashes between the forces of Self-Defence. Supposedly, they heat up the differences between the Sotnias. Not only they do no longer need the EuroMaidan, but it is dangerous for them, which is why they are trying to suppress it.
One way or another, there constantly occur conflicts in the center of Kiev. After all, there is a kind of armed freemen at the Independence Square at the moment, standing in the manner of Zaporozhian Sich. It is only when this “Sich” disperses the center of the capital will become peaceful and quiet again.

There are “pseudo tribunals” acting in Vinnitsa region – this was stated on the page of “Revshtab” (Vinnitsa). People with bats crushed an office in the city center. Kiev, 10.03.2014
Around 10 pm, a man called the duty unit of Pechersk police, telling that a company of men in camouflage equipped with bats made a real massacre in an office down the Shota Rustaveli Street. Several police squads went to the place. “20 people rushed in the office. All were dressed in camouflage uniforms and masks. They knocked out doors, then began smashing the glass with their bats”- tells the police. “After breaking into the room, looters smashed cabinets, chairs, equipment, scattered papers on the floor. They took with them all that is valuable. Some took the notebook, monitors, printers, pens. Nor did they disdain to open a bottle of wine. Looters neatly piled on a ladder platform everything they fancied”, - noted the policemen. For some reason, the police showing up near the office took marauders by surprise. A portion of robbers scattered in all directions. However, the police managed to hold up eight people. All of them aged between 20 and 25. Mostly people from different regions of Ukraine, but there were also Kiev citizens. The detained refused to answer for what purpose they raided the office. But we already know the damage they have caused to the office equals more than 60 thousand hryvnias, and that's not counting the broken furniture. Currently, looters are in Pechersk district administration office. Criminal proceedings have already been launched. These men are to face 6 years in prison.

“The building was under protection of the State Security Service (SSS) of Vasilkovsky police department. “Criminals use minivans; they still are located in the captured premises, around which there are grenade extensions installed. So far, they've managed to steal a tractor, a quad bike, a motorcycle, furniture, appliances, dishes, and other things.” - said Moskal.
According to him, they constantly hear about such cases of looting and not responding, let alone condoning, on the police’s part.

Night of March 9-10 2014, during the after-hours, General Guslavskiy invited the deputy Lugansk Regional Council Arsen Klinchaev in his office. At the command of Guslavskiy, a group of people broke into his office: MP of Ukraine Oleg Lyashko with eight persons accompanying him, among whom there were athletic men possessing fighting skills, who obeyed Lyashko’s orders and an operator with a video camera Vsevolod Filimonenko,” – was said in a statement. The statement noted that the deputy of the Lugansk regional council “was handcuffed and subjected to humiliation and torture by a gang of thugs led by the People's Deputy Lyashko.” “The whole process of bullying a deputy of the Regional Council took place in the office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Lugansk region and filmed in the immediate presence of the chief of Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Lugansk region General Vladimir Guslavskiy. Head of Ministry of Internal Affairs did not prevent the group of thugs to drag the deputy from the police station and load him into the van, where Lyashko and his gang continued to beat and mock the deputy of the Regional Council Arsen Klinchaev,”- noted Lugansk deputies. The statement noted that these actions, which took place on the night of March 9-10 2014, violated the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine, infringed honor, dignity and business reputation of the deputy of the Lugansk Regional Council Arsen Klinchaev. “In addition, the actions of the deputy of Ukraine Oleg Lyashko, his companions and the head of Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Lugansk region General Vladimir Guslavskiy fall under the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, infliction of bodily harm, assault and torture, false imprisonment, abuse of power, criminal omission of a policeman” – said in a statement.
On the same day, March 11, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the arrest of A. Klinchaev on suspicion of attempted forcible change of the constitutional order, organizing mass disorder, abuse of state symbols and seizure of public buildings.

Confusion on the Maidan: Hundreds began an armed confrontation between each other. Kiev, 12.03.2014
Gunshots regularly heard in the city center.
Recently, news about shooting in the building of KSCA was spread over the Internet. The news was reported by one of the fighters of Vinnitsa Sotnia. There was information on the wounded and the dead, but nothing specific have been reported, including from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In view of the conflicting information, 112.ua news portal decided to go to the Maidan and clear up the situation.
As it turned out, in recent times, strange things have been happening on the Independence Square. Protesters refuse to talk to the recorder, do not let you take pictures of them, check not only the identity of the journalist, but also your driver’s license, passport, etc. As they say themselves, this is done in order to avoid provocation. The protesters reluctantly admit the very fact that they (provocations) occur constantly.
“Yes, something happens every night. We continuously hear gunshots, some persons trying to provoke others with a weapon. You don’t want that to happen to you, do you” - one of the protesters expressly informed our correspondent.
According to self-defenñe soldiers, separate groups of people constantly provoke confrontation. For example, one fighter who does not remove bulletproof vest all day, carrying a gun behind him, said that not so long ago the shooting occurred not only in the building of the KSCA, but also on Maidan itself.
“Yes, there were about 30 people, some with Makarov pistols, all wearing masks. They tried to break through. We had to shoot in the air and later – right over their heads, so that shells rained down by the collar” – anonymously told us one of the persons involved in the events. As it turned out, it was the group associated with repeated capture of KSCA on the eve of February 18 trying to break through.
By the way, the gunfight at the KSCA building took place the same night on March 7, and it involved machine-gun fire. This is what Valentin, one of the self-defenñe men, told us.
“There were seven or eight shots, maybe 10. Shooting began at night, I even jumped out of the tent at shots; there was a feeling as if they were right over the ear! Burst of fire was clearly audible, apparently from Kalashnikov.” As it turned out in the morning, soldiers of Right Sector clashed with unknown masked men in the KSCA building. It is not known exactly what happened, but it ended with RS victory. I did not hear anything about fatalities,”- said Valentin.
In general, such cases are not rare. Self-defenñe fighters make a surprised face at the questions relating shooting, asking – “What kind of shooting?”
“There are constant clashes and provocations; our work is to stop them," - said the men from self-defenñe. They are in full readiness around the clock; there is tension at the Maidan. At the same time, members of Sotnias admit they do not want to leave the center of Kiev until they feel that the revolution has triumphed and until they feel real change in the country.
For now, they are not happy with the new appointments of power and believe that their cause is not yet completed. Ruslan, one of the opposition soldiers from Vinnitsa Sotnia, clarified the situation with shooting. He is from St. Petersburg; the man sacrificed his business for the cause of the revolution, and continues to be in self-defenñe.
“Relations between Sotnias are different. Some Sotnias exist by themselves; some are supported by various political forces, others – by other organizations. Some have support of right-wing forces, the other – of territorial communities. Sotnias are fully self-governing fighting units; each Sotnia has its own arsenal. Relations are complex, there are constant clashes fueled by some politicians who, well, let's say, does no longer need the Maidan and is trying to suppress it - fighter admits.
According to Ruslan, there are a lot of arms on Maidan.
“We have enough weapons on Maidan. Basically, they are trophies, seized from Berkut soldiers and soldiers from internal troops. Clashes constantly occur. We seldom talk about it because, let’s put it that way, it is not something that civils should know. At daytime it is calm here, everyone’s taking a walk, tourists visit this place. But at night, we try not to go in groups less than three persons and always carry guns with us. Provocations constantly take place, including those with shooting. Luckily, there has been no wounded and fatalities recently, "- said a member of the self-defenñe forces.
As for the shooting in the KSCA, Ruslan is confident that the cause was alcohol.
“As far as I know from the words of the other fighters, the guy just got drunk and opened fire on his comrades; ambulance mentioned two victims, but I have not seen the bodies. Maidan prohibits drinking, but he seemed to have overlooked it” - believes fighter. By the way, such incidents do not leak to the MIA, and the police themselves are not very interested in what is happening.
“We sort it out ourselves. We do not trust the Ministry of Internal Affairs as we do not think they can be objective. If someone violates something, we deliver him to the commandant immediately. As to the person who fired at the KSCA, he had been arrested, but I do not know where he is; it is unlikely he was released to authorities” - believes Ruslan.
By the way, yesterday a squad of masked men attacked Kiev-Svyatoshinsky Prosecutor’s Office of Kiev. The Office of Public Prosecutor was raided by about 30 people in masks and camouflage uniforms. Unidentified men were armed with metal sticks and baseball bats. Without hesitation, they grabbed one of the prosecutors and beat him, demanding to get out of Kiev. Who were these people, whether it was another provocation or a deed of some right-wing group, is hitherto unknown.
One way or another, but the conflicts in central Kiev occur constantly. This is not surprising, as over a month now there are freemen in the center of the city, organized on the principle of Zaporozhian Sich and counting thousands of armed and battle-hardened men. It is obvious, people will not disband until the authorities serve better (i.e., or in a way they deem best). This means that we will see even more disturbing news from Khreschatyk. The main thing that no one else was hurt.

Self-defenñe says that they will return Yanukovich’s cars "whenever needed". Kiev, 12.03.2014
Maidan Self-Defenñe forces argue that they use cars from Yanukovych vehicle fleet for operational duty in agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Corresponding message appeared on the Self-Defence’s page in Facebook.
“There is a real information war going on against the Self Defense Sotniks. Such is the case with the assignment of cars to the 11th Sotnia,” - said in a statement.
Activists insist that these cars “are not registered to a single owner.” They argue that the cars were distributed among the Self-Defence Sotnias “for operational duty to ensure law and order in Kiev and the region”.
They also note that "under the agreement, the cars should be returned to the parking area of the Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kiev whenever requested".
It was reported that of 13 cars found in Gostomel, believed to be Yanukovych’s cars, only 7 were delivered from the Mezhyhiria; some of the remaining cars seen at various parking lots in Kiev.
Cars replacement is associated with the “Eleventh Sotnia” of the Maidan Self-Defence forces.
Tymoshenko’s office insists on disbanding the Right Sector and "Maidan Self Defence". Kiev, 12.03.2014
Functions of the Maidan Self-Defence and Right Sector should be corrected. Such opinion was expressed by an MP from the All-Ukrainian Union “Fatherland”, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Expression and Information Mykola Tomenko in comments to ForUm news agency correspondent.
“All that concerns functions and tasks must be adjusted in the course of discussions. Control function, the function of supervision, of social filter, is something that everyone supports. A feature of looting in the regions under the guise of ‘people's Self Defense’ or Right Sector – it is quite another. A masked man in Kiev is a gift to the Russian television. A man with a gun is a gift to Putin; an example of looting is a gift to Europe, which does not fully understand that we must unite against Russia, instead of constraining riots in Ukraine,”- said the deputy.
According to him, leaders of the Self-Defence and Right Sector must understand that they are being “blatantly and cynically used not in favor of the Ukrainian interests.”
In addition, Tomenko is confident that in most cases, the crimes committed by people in the form of Self-Defense or Right Sector are perpetrated by people unrelated to these organizations, as well as by those with a criminal record.
“If we authorized Avakov to be the Minister of the Interior Affairs as a compromise, because he knows all the institutions, rather than a pure policeman, we should be created commission with the participation of law enforcement and the real Self-Defenñe in each district; for a few days they would perform mopping-up, which would stop the manifestation of anarchy and looting,” – he said.
Tomenko also suggests that the Self-Defence and Right Sector joined the ranks of National Guard, planned to be created by the parliament today on the basis of internal troops.
At the same time, the former head of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak said that there should not be masked men with guns in the streets of Ukraine.
“The government must do everything possible for people to calm down, people to return to their families; spring is coming, gardens are blossoming, there is work to do. We will not create good on the squares,” – he said.
In addition, Rybak believes that government officials should hear Ukrainians living in all regions of the country. “We need to meet people, find out about their issues,” – he said.
House of a politician and businessman Viktor Medvedchuk burnt down. Kiev region, 12.03.2014
There is a lot of luxury villas in a protected nature reserve “Stugna” near the Tatsenko village (38 km from Kiev), Obukhov district; it is even forbidden to ride in cars in the vicinities.
The locals know one of estates particularly well: they say it has the tastiest exit to the river and with it a couple of acres of pine reserve, occupied by a politician and a businessman Viktor Medvedchuk.
However, it is impossible to explore the Medvedchuk lands now: the main house of the residence was burnt down on February 21. It was the day of the mass deaths on Maidan; unknowns set the building on fire. Only a charred tree left from the luxury building. The allocated shoreline, pier, security booth and barrier for boats remind of the bygone luxury.
“Nobody lived in that house, it was Medvedchuk’s cottage. It literally took 30-40 minutes for it to burn down. I have not seen how it was set on fire; nobody came by water, I think. We did not attempt to extinguish it, as it burned too good,”- told us one of the guards of a house situated in front of the Medvedchuk’s cottage.
