April 1, Vasily Polusov, a Zaporizhia city council deputy from Party of Region, was beaten, the web-page Prav.Da.UA reports. The deputy was beaten about 8.30 near his house in Budenogo Street in Khortitsa district on Tuesday. He was taken to City Hospital 5 about 10 a.m., he was in conscious and could tell the doctors what had happened.
Polusov claims that two unknown men in hoods attacked him. They apparently beat him with a bludgeon or a metal pipe. ‘He has numerous bruises on his face, hematomas on his head and a large hematoma on the right shin,’ says Andrey Popovich, the deputy Chief Physician of the City Hospital of First and Emergency Aid. He has a head of fibula fracture of the right limb, a large tense hematoma. So we had to open the hematoma and perform a small operation.
The doctors stress that nothing threatens to the deputy’s life. Nevertheless, Vasily Polusov (aged 43) will have to spend a couple of weeks in hospital.
