The Germanic languages have in their vocabulary quite a number of words that have no cognate forms in other Indo-European languages. Originally they were supposed to make about 30% of the Germanic vocabulary. But later researches greatly decreased this number. Examples of specifically Germanic words:

OE hūs Goth. hūs ON hūs
OE god Goth. guþ ON guþ
OE sumor, hand, earm, net, sand
Pronouns – as: OE swilc (such, self)
Adjectives – deop, deaf, deaþ
The origin of these and other words isn’t settled. These are specific features of the Germanic languages as a whole.
